I am still somewhat shocked by the passing of Peter Jennings to lung cancer. Granted, he was a smoker but it goes to show you that no one is safe from that terrible disease. What boggles my mind is this: How can an industry which kills thousands of Americans still be in business? I am talking about the Tobacco Industry of course! Sure, their arguments are "We don't hold a gun to their heads," and "We have resources for people to quit smoking right on our website." It took decades for them to admit, just barely, that smoking increased your risk of cancer. I know that there are plenty of smokers our there who don't have cancer and some might live long lives, but for the rest of Americans who die of cancer of the lungs caused by smoking it just doesn't make sense. Marlboro keeps sending me free gifts through the mail every now and then to get me to start smoking - I am sure you reading this get these little gifts as well - but I get it and throw it away. One of my uncles was told that if he smoked one cigarette he would die. He's been a chain smoker for over 30 years. Why can't we demand that Congress pass a law which prohibits addictive substances to be used in products that are mass produced? Is that so hard to do? Have them make nicotine-free smokes! |

RNC Convention: Day 3
Zell Miller, or Judas, was completely over-the-top and alienated a lot of undecided voters in my opinion. He lambasted Kerry and basically called him a little girl. Miller's speech was like a sermon and basically called George W. Bush Jesus Christ!
Dick Cheney. His speech was less red meat than Miller, but he still killed Kerry.
This goes to show you that the Republicans main message is ATTACK KERRY instead of building of Bush's agenda or record. Vicious attacks, they will no-doubt alienate voters. Kerry needs to respond to the vivious attacks with cojones!! |

RNC Convention Day: 1
McCain had a superb speech. He even took a shot at Michael Moore (who was in attendance) calling him a "disingenuous film maker." He also endorsed President Bush's action in Iraq and the War on Terrorism overall.
Giuliani was vicious. He attacked John Kerry like a rabid dog. I like the former mayor, but he was way over the top. Why not highlight the President's positive things that he has done? Oh, that's right, he has none.
We'll see what Day 2 from the "Death Star" bring. |

Here is a classic show of emotion from our President:
REPORTER: Thank you, Mr. President. You do have now the
personal gun of Saddam Hussein. Are you willing to give it to President
al-Yawar as a symbolic gift, or are you keeping it?
DUBYA: What she's referring to is a -- members of a Delta team
came to see me in the Oval Office and brought with me -- these were the
people that found Saddam Hussein, the dictator of Iraq, hiding in a
hole. And, by the way, let me remind everybody about Saddam Hussein,
just in case we all forget. There were mass graves under his
leadership. There were torture chambers. Saddam Hussein -- if you -- we
had seven people come to my office. Perhaps the foreign press didn't
see this story. Seven people came to my -- they had their hands cut off
because the Iraqi currency had devalued. And Saddam Hussein needed
somebody to blame, so he blamed small merchants. And their hands were
chopped off, their right hand.
-- Wow, that must have been torture to listen to (no pun intended), Savannah, Georgia, Jun. 10, 2004

I went to this site called classmates.com and found out what my friends from Florida were up to. To my surpsise most of the girls I knew were married and had kids and some of my other guy friends were married with kids as well. Yeah, I am as shocked as you are! Either things happen more quickly in Florida or I don't want to grow up... I think it's a mixture of both since I am nowhere near the M-word. But, it was nice to reconnect with some old friends. The funny thing is that I never realized how dorky I looked in high school until I look at the pics. I might post some for you people to laugh your asses off... eehh... better not! Anyways, live well. |

One of the things Republicans love to say to defend President Bush and his decision to attack Iraq is that he acted on intelligence given to him by the CIA and the governments of Great Britain and Russia. That is was in fact the CIA's, Great Britain's and Russia's faulty intelligence that made the President of the United States attack Iraq and, in effect, made him look bad. Well, to those that keep using that line of defense, I offer you this: John F. Kennedy mounted the Bay of Pigs invasion in the early 1960s on very faulty intelligence, but the one thing that he did after all the facts came out was that he personally apologized to the American people for the debacle. He said that as President and Commander in Chief, he was the person that was ultimately responsible for the actions taken by the U.S. Government. That is something this President has failed to do, and the main reason why he's no John F. Kennedy. |

Tonight was John Kerry's awaited speech at the Democratic National Convention. I give it a 9/10 for substance but a 7/10 for delivery. He actually stepped through a lot of his applause lines, but it was a great speech none the less. He talked about a lot of things, but the one interesting thing is that he's going to convert the Democratic Party as a party that is strong on defense, national security and the military just like John F. Kennedy did in the 1960s. He will cut taxes for the middle class and offer tax breaks for some companies but then roll back the tax cuts for the rich and use that to pay for universal (not quite universal) health care. I really liked his vision when it came to science and his optimistic vision on the cure of diseases by doing stem cell research. Like I mentioned earlier, it was a great speech, but the Republicans will attack him like they have done before. The message was "we can do better," and you know what, we will with Kerry in the White House. He was on message and he has started to define himself instead of letting the Bushies define himself. |

Today was the first night of the Democratic National Convention in Boston. My impression of the night was pretty dull except when President Clinton spoke to cap off the evening. He is a master politician and a superb speaker. He framed the Democratic Party's agenda in simple terms that the average person could understand. If I were an independent voter he would have converted me to a Democrat in a heart-beat. The central core of his speech was that the Republican Party under President Bush and his administration is a party that is hell-bent on helping the wealthy while overlooking the middle class and people below the middle class. At many times during his speech I wondered if he could just switch with Kerry and run for president again, he would beat Bush hands down. His intellect is far and above that of the current president, and his optimism is something to marvel. Those are the reasons why I supported Senator John Edwards in the Democratic Primaries, he was an optimist with real ideas and he could connect to the average American. Now I support the Kerry-Edwards ticket to take back the White House. |

I can't wait for the documentary "FAHRENHEIT 9/11" to come out next weekend. I saw a preview last night while watching Troy and no wonder Bush and his cronies did not want us to see it. All I have to say is WOW. |

I went white water rafting this weekend to the New River in West Virginia. Too bad the weather sort of sucked, but the rafting was great. Can't wait to do it again. Check back for pics of the even on the Gallery section. Oh, and, it seems that retards have taken over my Guestbook. If you don't have anything constructive to say, please don't waste space... even if you want to insult me, that's better than writing jibrish (or however it is you spell that shit). |

This is for Lily from Houston who wrote on my guestbook. Sorry to break it to you, honey, but you must be mistaking me for someone else. I don't have a radio show, and if I did it would be more like Howard Stern :). But, thanks for visiting my site, nonetheless. |

I suggest you go to this website: www.mediamatters.org. It is a website created to "analyze and correct conservative misinformation in the U.S. media." For example, shows on Fox News Channel, Rush Limbaugh, etc. They have an interesting story about Linda Chavez, a Fox News Channel analyst, who recently wrote a column calling John Kerry a "communist apologist." When asked about that she denied having called him that, claiming "others have," but not her. Go to the website and see for yourself. |

I got plastered this past Saturday at a friend's birthday party. I had not gotten that hammered since my birthday I don't think. That's what happens when you take shots of 99 proof vodka! Sunday I spent the whole day basically in bed! |

I am sick and tired of these Cardinals from the Vatican saying that politicians who support the woman's right to an abortion should not receive communion on Sundays. There is a separation of Church and State, and that separation has worked well for over 200 years; but they fail to realize that politicians not only represent Catholics, but they also represent Jews, Protestants, Muslims, Buddhists, etc. Talking about John Kerry in particular, who happens to be Catholic (like me), like I said earlier, the President of the U.S. represents a wide range of religious beliefs and the principle of separation of Church and State was adopted for that reason. |

Truth, covered in security. I can't let you smother me. I'd like to, but it couldn't work. Trading off and taking turns. I don't regret a thing... And I've got this friend, you see who makes me feel and I wanted more than I could steal, I'll arrest myself, I'll wear a shield, I'll go out of my way to prove I still... I still smell her on you.
Don't, tell me what I wanna hear, afraid of never knowing fear, experience anything you need, I'll keep fighting jealousy, until it's fucking gone and I've got this friend, you see who makes me feel and I wanted more than I could steal, I'll arrest myself, I'll wear a shield, I'll go out of my way to prove I still... I still smell her on you.

What a great day. I want to just leave work right now and head for the beach. Yes, that's right. Better yet, take a weekend trip to Miami. Ok, so I guess work is slow today, but even if it weren't, I can't help but notice what a nice day it is outside! |

Yes, well, I went to a party last night that was supposed to be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but it turned out to be an "October Fest" celebration! You know the ones that have plenty of sausages and beer but rarely any girls. Yes, what a great way to spend a Friday evening. Anyways, let's move to a more sobering topic: the weather. It is so nice out there, it trully is the first day of srping, it's sorta like 80 degrees out there. Yeah, I am somewhat bored and if you're reading this, well then we're in the same state of mind. Boredom is life's remedy to self adulation is it not? |

This is our President. The one who is in charge of our security; the one who is in charge of our troops in Iraq; the one who sent troops to a country that posed no weapons o mass destruction; the one president who has consistently failed to answer questions that deal with our security, our well being, and our livelihood! http://mfile.akamai.com/8082/wmv/www.democrats.org/video/mistakes.asx |
